Here are some samples of training matrials that I have developed and presented. The books will download, according to your computers settings. All are in PDF format.
Hazards and Risks
This is one of a series of core competencies for mine workers that I developed for a group on NSW coal mines. There are spaces in this manual for local procedures and risks to be inserted. I did the writing and layout, with content provided by a team of safety managers from several mines.
Hazardous Energy Control
This was another in the core competency series. The procedure was standard across all mines, so this did not require placeholders for local content.
Map Reading
This was part of a series of programs that I developed for the ACT Emergency 000 control room. It was designated as a self study program, namely they could follow the materials and sit for the assessments when they were ready. This was to cater for very experienced people being told very basic material. In fact, almost all attended the tutorials associated with the programs.
Emergency Masterclass
This was the handbook I developed for a series of programs I presented across Australia.
Supervisor Refresher
This is a refresher training program that I developed for a number of mines In Queensland. It takes some published aaccident reports from NSW and looks at the application of the causes and remedies to the local mine.
Assessment at work
This booklet shows how various items can be assessed using a variety of types of questions. The content is Qld mining law, but it can be adapted to any subject matter. I chose Queensland mining law to avoid plagiarism by others, unless they were willing to do a lot of work. I also have copies which deal with management gurus (Maslow, Herzberge, McGregor, etc) and requirements of RTO legislation. The concepts are the same.
Learning with Style
A series of experiential exercises for an advanced trainer training program.
